Cant see us off loading a ton of players esp when the potential of league prize money and cup prize money is at stake. Not to mention champions league money for next season. We where meant to be well under the cap this year and surely that did not include champs league money,so why not keep the player, win the trophys and cash that goes with it then off load players at end of season and get lads in who will play for a decent wage without it being silly money.Because believe me der are plenty out der who will.

I'd agree with that! Not sure about Madden though, would be very nice to hang onto but if the right offer came in then we don't have much of a choice! Confused

Give TNS a shout. I hear they're interested. Wink

Wonder have any of you heard that Powell might be coming to Pats? Any truth in it? Is he any good? What I've seen of him he looks good going forward, not so good at defending.

Wouldn't mind a swap for Bermingham tbh. I like Powell as a player, think him & Killer are great going forward down the left together, great understanding with overlaps & one twos between them effortless.

Defensively he is weak. Shows the player the inside then has the pace to nick the ball off him when they are running side by side, I've been saying it for about two years how obvious he is when defending. TNS completely exposed him & he was raped over the two legs. That said he is better than Rossi & Stephen Gray had an absolute nightmare against you lot out in Richmond last time. Guy was nothing short of actually laughing in the blokes face.

Cheers Razor1890. Yeah kinda looked that type of player to me too. Good going forward, terrible in defence though. No sign of us letting Bermo go, he's injured so I presume Powell would be cover for left back, although we've signed another young left back as well and a left winger off Bradford James o' Brien but I just wanted to know was there any truth in the rumours and was he any good. Obviously all of you would see him alot more than me so wanted to know what yous thought of him if we do end up signing him. Was it Gray that played against us? Yeah he was terrible. Guy made a mockery of him. Has he played since?

Not a chance Powell would go to sit on the bench behind bermingham.

No Gray hasnt played since(thank god) He has been out injured since that game.I still think Powell is 1 of if not the best left full in the league though and would hate to see him join another LOI club

Agreed. Even though he has had a couple of bad games recently, he is still, by some distance, the best left full I have seen in the league over the past 2 seasons. He's a modern style full back who probably concentrates a little too much on attack, but he has great pace and is usually well able to get back to defend when need be. NEVER shy in getting into tackles that look like leg breakers and always simply gets up and walks away when someone tries to break him up.

I agree he is on a bad run of form lately, he used to get closer to people to put in a tackle but the last while he
has been standing too far off the winger and allowing him to build up pace. He is making it hard on himself. Im not
saying jump into tackles but he should be getting closer at the start. Id like to see some tackles put in when/if
he gets back into the team.

Apparently it's just Bohs fans that think that.

Except Rico maybe?

If Powell is going anywhere it will be to the UK and hopefully for six figures, talk of him going to Pats ??, I reckon that was a wind up by the Pats fan and somebody took the bait Confused

I remember posting here a few years ago after he got a roasting by O'Donovan in Cork and I thought he was overrated but he proved me wrong last year and really came on.

Unfortunately he still seems vunerable to quick wingers who run at him especially when the player that's playing in midfield in front of him doesn't protect him enough.

I've said it for a while that he could be a decent midfielder, playing out wide and getting forward at every opportunity.
