Dotsy if you're friends with him on facebook do the kid a favour and tell him to get rid of the comments and be more selective about who and what he talks to on facebook since its in the public domain.

I've been defending him on another thread for his efforts on the pitch, but the fella is seriously naive off it, if he is accepting random Bohs fans as his friends on facebook.
I think he learned form it.

Give it a rest. He's only a young lad and is hurting like the rest of us. Of course his brother is gonna stick up for him. The last thing I've ever heard anyone who has ever had dealings with Paddy Madden describe him as is a 'cunt'.

Think people’s opinions on him this season as a player have been fair and especially as fans I think we have a right to criticise if he is playing shit but calling him a cunt is a bit much?

A bit much? Bang out of order imo.

I would say some of the players may have said that to him. I think more people were annoyed at his brothers comments to be fair.

Having a go at players' family members is stupid. You may have thought it was a good idea, but that says it all.

Well when a players family member posts about bonuses just after the club is knocked out of Europe then it deserves it to be pointed out. Antway it's nothing to do with you so don't worry about it.

Sorry to break it to you Dotsy, but I'm allowed express my opinion. If you think it's a good idea to be getting into a row with the brother of a 20-year-old footballer who is probably in bits after the worst defeat of his short career thus far, then you need your head examined. How's that going to affect such a young player's confidence? Or any player for that matter.

Ah bless him... Rolling Eyes

Sometimes people have to learn lessons the hard way Luke. It's called life.

I'm well aware of that. But I don't think slagging him on his Facebook or having a go at his brother there is the way to go about it. I'd like to think the result itself is enough.

And I'm allowed to express my opinion aswell Luke. This is not going to affect Paddy Maddens confidence. I had a go at his brother and IMO rightly so. You don't agree with it then fine.

Agree with Whitehall Bohs about Cronin,he was our man of the match and he only came on at half time it says it all about the players performance,he hit the post and and made tackles unlike some of his teammates. He was hurting when he came on an took it out on TNS pity the rest couldnt do it.

Also talk about being brain dead at times, during our best period of the game(just after half time)McGuiness was winning headers and putting them under pressure so we get a free on the half way line and the back 4 leave it to McGuiness to take it while all of us in the stand wanted him in the box as he was effective,it took Fenlon to tell a player to come back and let Jayo go up and what to the players do.....let out other big player in ken Oman take the free as I said brain dead

The 1st goal was so avoidable,a min or 2 before they got there 1st 3 players(Oman Powell and Murphy) all left a bouncing ball to eachother and the ball just went out for a goal kick before the TNS player got to it if that wasnt a warning to eachother to wake the fuck up then I dont know what it because 2 mins later samething happened an were 1 down, the other goals were also terrible defending with players running from midfield and not been tracted back and leaving people free in the box.It was horrible to watch it was like the keeper and back 4 had never seen eachother in their life until 6.59pm Tuesday night in Park Hall

Not even the very cheap drink in Liquids could get the nightmare I withnessed out of my mind or get drunk.Nobody wanted to be there it seemed people were so pissed off with that performance that they just wanted to be back in Dublin and forget the nightmare we had just seen

Some did abuse him on his page and rightly removed as friends.

Can't comment on the TNS game as I wasn't there, but this does not surprise me. He did more in 15 minutes last Friday against Sligo than that waste of space, Higgins, did in the previous 75 mins.

Cronin has his faults, but you can never question his effort and work rate. I will be very disappointed if he doesn't start against Bray. I'd be happy to never ever see Higgins in a Bohs jersey again.

Shelley's account of game.

The Irish Times - Thursday, July 22, 2010Shelley shocked after Bohemians' nightmare
LEAGUE: BRIAN SHELLEY has dubbed Bohemians’ humiliating Champions League exit as the lowest moment of his career.

The Bohemians defender, who has suffered the heartbreak of relegation, said nothing compared to the embarrassing 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Welsh minnows The New Saints on Tuesday night.

The shell-shocked League of Ireland champions are still trying to come to terms with one of the worst results of their 40-year history of European competition, after going down in Oswestry.

And with hopes of a glamour tie with Belgian giants Anderlecht and a €500,000 cash boost lying in tatters, Shelley pulled no punches as the inquest began into the Dubliners’ drubbing.

“It was the most disappointing night I’ve ever had in my career and I’ve been relegated once or twice,” said Shelley.

“It was gut wrenching to walk in after being beaten by four goals. I think too many took it for granted.

“From the start they out-muscled us and bullied. But they haven’t started their season yet and we’re mid flow – there are no excuses.

“Over the last couple of years Irish clubs have made progress, but this is a kick in the teeth for the whole league.

“Any player sitting in that dressingroom before the game who thought we didn’t have to win this game for financial reasons was fooling themselves.

“We all knew going into the game that we needed it – to what extent I don’t really know. But we know financially that it’s going to have a big impact on us, for the rest of the season and the seasons ahead.”

A nightmare evening saw Bohemians’ one-goal lead from the first leg quickly wiped out after a three-goal blitz all but ended the second round qualifying tie with barely 20 minutes on the clock.

To make matters worse, Bohs’ large travelling support turned on manager Pat Fenlon and his players as TNS romped home to advance in Europe for the first time in 14 years.

“We will probably never get another chance like that again,” admitted 28-year-old Shelley. “It was the first time in a long time that a League of Ireland team goes away from home and are the favourites to go through. Maybe that’s where the problem was.

“We’ve just let Pat and the staff down big time. It was hard as you are trying not to notice them (the fans) but I was getting it in the ear by numerous fans. It was like a home game with all the fans who went out of their way to come and support us. We let them down.”

That's two players I have now read saying some players didn't approach the game right. That is a fucking disgrace that some of these players call themselves professionals, who ever they are need to be booted out of the club asap. You could see how much it hurt him the other nite, he came off the pitch in tears a pity some players don't care as much as him. Some are just there for the money unlike Shelley who it seems is to play football for the love of the game. This is a man who came home from Carlisle and played for the Filth for fifty euro a week. This is the type of player along with McGuinness, Keegan, Cronin and Anto Murphy we need to keep at the club and build the future around. Players that will give 100% and have pride in wearing the jersey

those articles make for hard reading alright.

Cant help but feel its easy for them to come out and say this stuff after the fact. Where was the leadership before the game?
