without trying to put any emphasis on the fact that we won a meaningless friendly in the same week as we lost a huge fixture, I am fucking delighted, absolutely fucking delighted, that we pissed on the barstoolers chips and sent them home with their remote controls between their legs. Our team, riddled with reserves and trialists, and theirs, with well known premiership pros.
No problem at all with the proper Villa fans who followed their team over from Birmingham etc but the Irish people there, who cheered against the Irish team. FUCKING SICKENER
same. I really enjoyed standing up and rubbing it in their faces when we scored the winner after they had equalised
priceless.

As a Bohs fan but also a Villa fan; I thought the game as a whole was very entertaining! I thought Powell was very impressive as was Enzo's finish but I'm not sure Enzo is actually a good player, he looked a bit awkward!
I thought the Villa players looked a bit like they enjoyed the summer too much. Gabby and Petrov looked like they gave Burdock's some business on their trip over!
In a plus, I went with a pal who wouldn't be into Irish football but now he is already looking forward to the Pats game on Friday. I think the friendly(with the good atmosphere around the ground) will have atttracted a few new Bohs fans

If that comes to fruition and we get even 10 new fans then these events are worthwhile

Yeah and a good game on Friday too. In terms of football and atmosphere

Bohs v Pats is either a classic or a total dour affair, with a heavier weight to the dour fixtures.

Normally avoid these games like the plague but was persuaded to go
by an Aston born and bred Holte ender, well known to many on here. As he's lived in Dub longer than
Brum at this stage he was roaring for Bohs much to the confusion of
the barstool planks around us. We overheard some fool mutter to his mate
'must be a city fan' the reply:'no, I'm from Aston what part of Bermingham
are you from?' was met with silence. Talked to some of the genuine(ie English)
Villa fans after the game and they probably knew more about Bohs than your average
'Irish soccer fan'.

BohsTV 1 conducted a football survey on state of the League of Ireland and support for your local club, during half time at the recent friendly game between Bohemians and Aston Villa. This is what Aston Villa's Irish and English fans had to say.
Bohemians subsequently won the game 2-1.

That the guy who was born in Birmingham? There is a post in the middle of the topic somewhere about him too, he wasn't joking when he said it. Agreed with the knifing though, I bet that cunt didn't support Longford when they were relatively successful, nice facility down there too.

"I started supporting Villa when Paul McGrath signed, I was about 8 or 9"....the fibs coming out of that fellas mouth. Unless McGrath signed for them in 1976...the state of him!
I love the rabbit in the headlights look when they're asked why they don't support their local club.
